The natural smoke and heat exhaust system (NODT) for skylights is an important element in building engineering systems that allows for the natural removal of smoke, hot air, or gases from buildings in the event of a fire or excessive heating of spaces.
Natural smoke and heat exhaust systems operate in two ways: pneumatic or electromechanical drive.

PODV pneumatic cylinder for daily ventilation. Stroke 300 mm.
Various valve designs for activation. The advantage of the pneumatic NODT system is its independence from any electrical power supply. The system operates even in the event of a complete power outage, as the driving gas (CO2) is stored in pressurized gas cylinders. For this reason, there are also pneumatic ODTs on staircases. Since a power outage can also affect smoke detection systems, pneumatic ODTs are triggered using thermal bulbs with different activation temperatures. The pneumatic NODT can be equipped with a separate 230-volt motor for ventilation, thus creating a pleasant climate in the space.

The 24V NODT system is an ideal solution for applications where an electrical device for smoke and heat exhaust is required in accordance with EN 12101-2. It can also be used for daily ventilation. In the event of accidental activation due to false alarms or vandalism, the skylights can be conveniently closed with the push of a button from the control point. Therefore, this device is ideal for use in schools, sports halls, and theaters.
Skylights are indispensable as part of an active fire protection system. Both systems open in less than 60 seconds in the event of a fire.
The POSplastic domes are certified in accordance with the European standard EN 12101-2:2003.
