Bending acrylic and polycarbonate glazing

A flat plate can be shaped into a fold or other spatial shape with heat. We offer hot linear bending of acrylic and polycarbonate glazing and thermoforming over a mould. The shape of the finished piece is important for preparing a quote.

From a flat sheet to the required shape

Hot linear bending

For bends along specific lines on the plate. Mark the positions of the bends, angles and lengths of individual sides on the sketch; in the case of multiple bends, the overall spatial shape should be visible.

Radius selection

The bending radius depends on the thickness of the plate. The basic and larger radius in the photos show the difference in the shape of the transition. Specify the desired radius so that we can check it for the selected material.

Thermoforming over a mould

For shapes that are not only described by straight fold lines, please send a plan or description. Also indicate whether you already have a mold or sample. We will coordinate the necessary steps with the shape of the product.

Linear bending

Length	Up to 2050 mm.
Panel thickness	Up to 15 mm.
Materials	Acrylic (PMMA) and polycarbonate glazing.

The published limits apply to linear bending. The radius, arrangement of bends and the feasibility of the final shape are checked according to the material and thickness.

Make the final shape visible

For a curved stand, the outer width and height do not yet describe the depth and position of the bend. Add a side view. If the edges will be visible, also indicate the desired processing after bending.
